(Hong Kong, 15th January 2020) The “Pass-it-On Campaign” organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) is stepping into its 17th anniversary. This year, the Chief Ambassador, Mr Alex Fong has disguised as the magical pâtissier of “Reddie Bear Love Pastry Academy” and hunts for ingredients in preparing “love pastries” with the Campaign icon “Reddie Bear” to spread “love and care” to the underprivileged population in society. Reddie Bear is now calling upon home chefs to participate in “Share with Love, Love to Share” Recipe Contest to share the recipes and stories behind the preparation of delicious meals for their loved ones and further spread love to every corner of the city.

Participants of “Share with Love, Love to Share” Recipe Contest shall submit a “love recipe” together with its story in any format including text, photos or video from now on until 31st January 2020. All entries will be assessed based on the recipe and story respectively, where the former will be evaluated based on creativity, healthiness and difficulty, and the latter will be assessed based on content, theme and presentation style. Participants with text entries are required to “like” the event post of “Share with Love, Love to Share” Recipe Contest on Facebook, click on the registration link and submit personal information together with the recipe and story. Participants with entries in other formats (including photos or videos) have to submit their works via email: pass-it-on@redcross.org.hk after completing the above procedures. The first 100 participants who successfully submitted their works will be awarded with a “Reddie Bear Travel Bag”, while the judging panel will also select the most thoughtfully designed recipes and meaningful stories and awards the winners with attractive prizes. All home chefs who enjoy cooking for family and friends with love are welcome to share your recipes and stories behind the lovely meals! Please visit http://link.redcross.org.hk/epiorecipecontest for further details.

Another highlight of the “Pass-it-On Campaign”, the charity sale has been launched with two fashionable and functional charitable items, Reddie Bear “Bake with Love” Cutlery Set and Reddie Bear “Love to Share” Bottle. They are now open for sale on designated online platforms, including https://rcshop.redcross.org.hk , www.boutir.com , www.esdlife.com and www.hktvmall.com , while Reddie Bear “Bake with Love” Cutlery Set is also available at selected PARKnSHOP, FUSION, TASTE, INTERNATIONAL, food le parc, GOURMET, GREAT FOOD HALL, SU-PA-DE-PA, Watsons, and FORTRESS from now on until 17th January 2020. About “Pass-it-On Campaign”
Aiming to raise funds in support of the humanitarian work of the Hong Kong Red Cross and to promote the “Share and Care” spirit amongst people, the HKRC has been organizing the Pass-it-On Campaign since 2003. The charity campaign has become one of the HKRC’s key annual fundraising events. It encourages people to care not only for their families and friends, but also for those close and afar who are less fortunate and in need. It emphasizes the power of joining hands, that when we all put ourselves together, an enormous loving power can be accumulated to help those who are in need. It is a fundraising campaign that relies on this “pass-it-on effect” amongst people to spread the “share and care” spirit.
